About the Artist

 

 

 

 

Amélie Cabocel (Nancy, France) has a master's degree in photography and contemporary art from the Paris 8 University and a master's degree in Social Anthropology from the School of Higher Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS).

His artistic practice revolves around themes such as the transformation of the body, the search for the invisible in society and popular imaginaries, highly influenced by the images presented by the media. This from two axes: art and research. In turn, he works with photography, video, sound and documentary cinema, from questions linked to the body and the social body.

Amélie comes to C3P interested in working on gender issues with communities of ex-combatant women, on the one hand, and reflecting on the difficulties that Trans people from the city of Medellín have to access public space. This project will be carried out in collaboration with the Organización Antioquia Trans and the team of “The Gallery at Divas”.
